Adopt a project
SFRS takes pride in transparency and treating our donors as investors both in our organization and in education throughout the developing world. As a result, we have developed an "Adopt a Project" menu through which donors can choose to sponsor a specific project. Please note that we also greatly appreciate unrestricted funding as it allows us to deploy your funds in the most strategic way.

The following list describes our projects and their adoption costs  If you are interested in sponsoring a project, please contact us to start the adoption process. Thank you!

2007 Price (US$) Project Description
$1200 Per Year

Scholarship:   These holistic scholarships make it possible for a rural scholar, who would otherwise not have access to an education, to attend school through the secondary level until graduation.

Long-term sponsors of our SFRA  Scholarship Yearbook that describes the program in detail, highlights partnerships, and profiles some of the scholars.

$10,000

Library Construction:  We construct stand-alone library buildings in school communities that do not have enough space to dedicate a room to the project. We then furnish these larger libraries as we would our smaller library rooms. Your sponsorship includes construction of the building in the local architectural style and the creation of a child-friendly learning environment that includes: books, furniture, games, puzzles, posters, librarian training, and three years of support from SFRS.

Sponsors of library construction projects receive an Application Report, which describes the community in need, reasons for support, and details of the Challenge Grant; a Progress Report with updates on construction; and a Completion Report with a summary of the project and photos of the completed library, including a photo of the dedication plaque that is placed on the building.
$3-35,000

Class  Room/School: Fund the construction of a new preschool, primary, or secondary school, depending on the need of the specific community. Each school has three to eight rooms and provides a new or improved learning environment for students.  For our Class Room Program, project sponsors will receive an Application Report which describes the community in need, reasons for support, and details of the challenge grant; a Progress Report with updates on construction; and a Completion Report with a summary and photos of the completed school, including a photo of the dedication plaque that adorns the building.

$16,000

Computer Lab: Fund a computer lab, providing students with the opportunity to learn valuable technology skills. Your sponsorship will fund equipment, technology, and training for teachers and students.
Computer Room sponsors will receive a Completion Report describing the project and partnership, as well as photos of the lab in use and the dedication plaque that resides inside the lab.

$500 Skill Enhancement – Fund a workshop or training program for older youth to help them acquire income earning skills. These workshops are typically conducted over 1-2 weeks and are supported thru community participation.
