Volunteer Opportunities We have hundreds of volunteers around the world who are self-directed, highly motivated, and passionate about promoting education in the developing world. We are always looking for energetic individuals who are interested in raising awareness and funds for SFRS and the work we do.
As a volunteer, there are a number of different ways you can help SFRS Read bring educational infrastructure to millions of children around the world. If you are interested in participating in any of the volunteer opportunities below, please contact volunteer@sfrs.org so we can be sure to include you in the SFRS volunteer network.
Join the SFRS to Read Buzz List
Once you fill out the volunteer application and send it to volunteer@sfrs.org, you will automatically be added to the mailing list. As a member of the Buzz List, you will receive 6-12 emails per year with suggestions on ways to help spread the word about SFRS.
Introduce SFRS to a foundation, corporation or publisher that might be interested in supporting our work
Do you have connections within a corporation or foundation that might be interested in funding our work? Can you introduce SFRS to a publisher that would be interested in supporting us? If so, complete our volunteer application and send it to volunteer@sfrs.org and include this information in the application. One of our staff members will respond to you about the potential partnership.
Teaching or Mentoring
Do you have skills which will can help children. We have several opportunities where we can organize short term courses where you can teach children some of the skills that might be useful in their careers. If your are interested in a teaching/mentoring please send an email to mentor@sfrs.org
Hold a fundraising event
Invite your friends, colleagues and family to your own fundraising party. Pl send an email to fundraising@sfrs.org for the fundraising kit.
Organize a Fundraising Appeal
Are you running a marathon and want to raise money for SFRS? In lieu of gifts for your birthday or wedding, are you asking guests to make donations to SFRS? Send a mail to appeal@sfrs.org for the appeal kit.
